Overview
Crowd is an application designed to reshape how attendees and hosts engage with events—placing real-time interaction and user participation at the core of the experience. As Product Design Lead at Valere, I was involved from the earliest stages, helping define the product’s unique positioning and exploring solutions that would differentiate it in a crowded market. I led the design strategy and UI execution, focusing on features like the Event Camera, User-Generated Event Stories, and a revenue-sharing model that rewards users for inviting others. These elements were crafted to boost in-event engagement while equipping hosts with robust tools to manage, promote, and monetize their events seamlessly.
Challenge
The event management and social interaction platform market is largely dominated by traditional solutions that overlook innovation in user experience. During the discovery phase, I helped identify key gaps:
Lack of Real-Time Interaction: Existing platforms fail to support meaningful, live engagement during events.
Limited Tools for Hosts: Event organizers often face challenges managing, promoting, and monetizing their events effectively.
These insights revealed a clear opportunity to design a platform that not only enhances attendee engagement but also equips hosts with more powerful, practical tools.
Solution
Crowd brings a fresh approach to event management, with a strong focus on real-time interaction and social engagement. I led the design of features that set the platform apart—such as the Event Camera, enabling users to instantly capture and share moments, and Event Stories, which enhance the shared experience across attendees. We also introduced a revenue-sharing model to drive organic growth by rewarding users for inviting others. On the host side, I helped craft a seamless experience with tools that simplify event management, promotion, and monetization—all within a cohesive and user-friendly interface.
